CAPAC Chair Applauds Confirmation of Mustafa Kasubhai

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, the Senate confirmed Oregon Magistrate Judge Mustafa Kasubhai to the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. 

Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28) issued the following statement: 

“I am delighted to congratulate Judge Mustafa Kasubhai on his confirmation to the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Judge Kasubhai made history as the first Asian American federal judge in the District of Oregon and the first American Muslim to serve in the Ninth Circuit, and his exceptional dedication to the rule of law and public service will be a great asset to our justice system. I appreciate President Biden’s ongoing efforts to nominate highly qualified candidates who reflect the diversity of our country to fill federal judicial vacancies, and I thank Senate Majority Leader Schumer for his leadership on this successful confirmation.”
