CAPAC Chair Condemns Remarks by Phil Robertson
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), condemned remarks made by Phil Robertson, star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty. Rep. Chu released the following statement:
“I am deeply disturbed by the insensitive comments Phil Robertson made during his interview with GQ Magazine. The comments were inaccurate, homophobic and racist. With the popularity and reach of Duck Dynasty, Mr. Robertson’s remarks promote a dangerous culture of intolerance against the LGBT, Asian American, African American, Islamic, and other minority communities. I commend A&E for their swift actions. These kinds of statements have no place in our society.”
