In the first episode with Rep. Derek Tran, Chair Meng discusses the impact of DOGE cuts on veterans and the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, launched her “Spill the Tea” video series to discuss pressing issues impacting the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community. The video series features candid, informal conversations with CAPAC members, subject-matter experts, and community leaders over a cup of tea.

The first episode of Spill the Tea features Rep. Derek Tran (CA-45), a U.S. Army veteran and the only Vietnamese American Member currently serving in Congress. The conversation includes a behind-the-scenes look at Rep. Tran’s motivations for entering public service, the reason behind the first bill he introduced as a member of Congress, and his reflections as we approach the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon.
