CAPAC Applauds Confirmation of Dilawar Syed as SBA Deputy Administrator
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Dilawar Syed to be the Deputy Administrator at the Small Business Administration (SBA). Mr. Syed was officially endorsed by the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) earlier this year.
CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28) issued the following statement on the confirmation:
“I congratulate Dilawar Syed on his confirmation as Deputy Administrator at the Small Business Administration. Today’s vote is a testament to Dilawar’s decades of experience as a tireless public servant for our nation and in the private sector as a successful entrepreneur. This historic confirmation is also a critical step towards President Biden’s commitment to diversifying the federal workforce, with Dilawar serving as the highest-ranking Muslim official in the Administration. I am confident that Dilawar will bring great leadership to his work with the SBA in strengthening the millions of small businesses all across our nation, especially those owned by women and people of color, and I am excited to continue partnering with him.”
