CAPAC Chair Applauds Nomination of Lina Khan to the Federal Trade Commission

March 23, 2021

Washington, D.C. — Today, President Joe Biden nominated Lina Khan for Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) issued the following statement:

“It is a privilege to congratulate Lina Khan on being nominated by President Biden as a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC is crucial for ensuring a fair economy, and with an extensive background in antitrust, industry, and antimonopoly law, as well as years of experience as counsel to the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative law, Lina is perfectly suited for this important role. In addition to the skill she will bring to this position, I am also thrilled to see President Biden continue to deliver on his promise to build an executive branch that looks like our country. That includes an historic commitment to diversity which ensures communities of color like Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have a strong voice in our federal government.”
