Washington, D.C. — Today, President Biden nominated David Uejio as the Assistant Secretary of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) issued the following statement:

“I am proud to congratulate David Uejio on his nomination to be President Biden’s Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. An experienced and dedicated civil servant, David has served in the Federal government for years, including most recently as the Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where he has worked for nearly a decade. Prior to joining CFPB, David also worked at the National Institutes of Health, the White House Office of Personnel Management, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
