CAPAC Members Praise President Obama’s Appointment of Cecilia Muñoz as White House Director of the Domestic Policy Council
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, following President Obama’s appointment of Cecilia Muñoz as White House Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-32), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, issued the following statement:
Congresswoman Judy Chu, CAPAC Chairwoman (CA-32): “Cecilia Muñoz brings a record of distinction to her new role as Director of the Domestic Policy Council. As the Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, I appreciate Ms. Munoz’s passion for civil rights advocacy and her efforts to improve the lives of minorities in our country. Having personally met with her twice last year, I know firsthand how passionate she is about protecting civil rights and fixing our broken immigration system. I would like to commend President Obama on this exceptional appointment, and Congratulate Ms. Muñoz on her new position.”

Prior to her appointment today, Cecilia Muñoz served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Before joining the Obama Administration in January of 2009, she worked as Senior Vice President for the Office of Research, Advocacy, and Legislation at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
