WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) released the eleventh episode of its Spill the Tea with Chair Meng video series with CAPAC Freshman Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10).
In the episode, Rep. Subramanyam discusses how the Trump administration is placing American lives and livelihoods in jeopardy—from launching a war with Iran to putting the sensitive data of millions of U.S. citizens at risk.
Excerpts from the episode are below.
On the Trump administration’s war with Iran:
“They don’t really tell us what's really going on. They don’t give us real justifications. They still haven’t told us what the imminent threat was to our country. And my subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs on the Oversight Committee hasn't met since last July. And it’s because, I think, a lot of Republicans on the committee were talking over and over again last year about the dangers of getting into foreign wars and regime change, and how Trump is here to stop all of that. And he’s done the exact opposite,” said Rep. Subramanyam, Ranking Member of the Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee.
On DOGE employee stealing sensitive information from millions of Americans:
“President Trump also said he was going to get rid of the 'deep state,' that was either spying on Americans or looking to hurt Americans in some way. But instead, he’s creating one. He brought in all these outsiders who used the contours of government and violated the trust of the American people. And it's just really sad to see. Because now they're taking our data. We don’t know all the damage that was done in the government just those few months in DOGE and the many, many months since then,” said Rep. Subramanyam.
