CAPAC Statement on MSNBC's Cancelation of Shows with AANHPI Hosts

February 26, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C - Today, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Grace Meng (CAPAC) issued the following statement on MSNBC's decision to cancel shows hosted by members of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community:

“MSNBC's cancellation of shows hosted by Katie Phang, Alex Wagner, and other people of color is devastating. These anchors were among the few Asian Americans to host a show on cable television. They told our stories — elevating the voices of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, and those who often go unheard in our society. Their absence is a profound loss for the network."
