October 26, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) welcomed Representative Christian Menefee (TX-18) as an Associate Member, bringing the Caucus to 86 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, the largest in history.

“I am thrilled to welcome Congressman Christian Menefee as CAPAC’s new Associate Member,” said Rep. Grace Meng, Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. “We need allies in Congress who are committed to fighting for the needs of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders across the country—including right in the heart of Houston. Rep. Menefee will be a strong advocate for our communities, and we are proud to have him as the newest member of our ever-growing caucus.”

“Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the nation. The strength and resilience of our many cultures, including our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities, are woven into the fabric of our district. I’m proud to join the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. More than 40,000 AANHPI residents call TX-18 home, and I’m committed to making sure our community has a seat at the table. Thank you to Chair Meng for the warm welcome. I look forward to being an ally in this fight,” said Rep. Christian D. Menefee.

Founded in 1994, the bicameral Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus is composed of 86 Members of Congress who advocate on behalf of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. The Caucus is led by Congresswoman Grace Meng, who was elected CAPAC Chair in 2024.
