October 9, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) welcomes Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) as a newly confirmed Associate Member for the 118th Congress, bringing the total membership of the Caucus to 80 Members of the U.S. House and Senate.

CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28) and Rep. Kamlager-Dove issued the following statements:

CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28):

“I am excited to welcome Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove as our newest Associate Member of our caucus! Throughout her years of public service, Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove has been a dedicated advocate for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities and all communities of color in Los Angeles and around the country. From standing against anti-Asian hate to dismantling linguistic and cultural barriers in critical government programs, benefits, and services, I look forward to working with Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove in uplifting AANHPI voices and issues in Congress. I am grateful for her support and commitment to championing our shared priorities.”

Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37):

“From Korean communities in Koreatown and University Park to the Japanese community in West Adams and Crenshaw, I’m proud to represent a vibrant, diverse AANHPI in Los Angeles. I am honored to join CAPAC as an Associate Member to fight for all corners of the AANHPI community in California’s 37th District. These communities contribute to the unique culture of our city, and we must support our AANHPI neighbors by increasing language access, promoting equity in health care and education, and combating anti-Asian hate–I look forward to working with my colleagues in CAPAC to advance these priorities.”
