Washington, D.C. — Today, the Senate confirmed Judge Jennifer Sung to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She will be the first AAPI judge from Oregon on the Ninth Circuit. Washington, D.C. — On Monday night, the Senate confirmed Judge Lucy Koh to serve on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Judge Koh is the first Korean American woman to serve as a federal appellate judge and only the second Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) woman to serve on the Ninth Circuit from California. Judge Koh was the US District Judge for the Northern District of California, where she has served since being nominated by President Obama in 2010.
