Washington, D.C. — In recognition of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee have released a new report on economic disparities in the AANHPI community, their contributions to the U.S. economy and the need for more disaggregated data.

Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, President Biden nominated Judge Florence Pan to succeed U.S. Supreme Court-designate Ketanji Brown Jackson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Judge Pan was confirmed by the Senate in September 2021 to become the first Asian American woman on the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., and previously was a D.C. Superior Court judge. Upon confirmation, Judge Pan would be the first Chinese American to serve on the D.C. Circuit.  Rep.

Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, the Senate passed H.R. 3525, Congresswoman Rep. Grace Meng’s Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture Act, which will now be moved to the President’s desk to be signed into law. The bill will authorize a commission to study the potential creation of a national museum dedicated to Asian Pacific American history and culture.

Washington, D.C. — Today, May 10, marks Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Mental Health Day,  which falls during both Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. AANHPI Mental Health Day promotes awareness of mental health issues that are unique to the AANHPI community.

Washington, D.C. — On Tuesday, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises) will now require lenders to ask applicants for their language preference during the home purchase process. The Enterprises will mandate usage of the Supplemental Consumer Information Form (SCIF) for any home loans they purchase.
