Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, the Senate passed H.R. 3525, Congresswoman Rep. Grace Meng’s Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture Act, which will now be moved to the President’s desk to be signed into law. The bill will authorize a commission to study the potential creation of a national museum dedicated to Asian Pacific American history and culture.

Washington, D.C. – Today is National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is observed annually on May 19th to break the silence and end the stigma around HIV and AIDS in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Washington, D.C. — Today, May 10, marks Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Mental Health Day,  which falls during both Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. AANHPI Mental Health Day promotes awareness of mental health issues that are unique to the AANHPI community.

Washington, D.C. — On Tuesday, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises) will now require lenders to ask applicants for their language preference during the home purchase process. The Enterprises will mandate usage of the Supplemental Consumer Information Form (SCIF) for any home loans they purchase.
