WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the leadership of the Congressional Quad-Caucus – which is composed of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) and the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) – issued statements condemning President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders, which were directly targeted at the immigrant community.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, the Congressional Tri-Caucus – which is composed of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus – sent a letter to the Senate Committee on Finance and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), urging them to oppose the nomination of Rep. Tom Price to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The legislation unanimously passed in both chambers of Congress earlier this year, and awards the Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino veterans who fought for the United States during World War II. Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. Senate voted 92-7 to pass the Conference Report on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2017. The U.S. House of Representatives previously passed the Conference Report by a vote of 375-34 on December 2, 2016, and it now heads to President Obama’s desk. The final Conference Report, which was negotiated between House and Senate conferees, authorizes approximately $611.2 billion in funding for the Department of Defense (DOD) and other related agencies, programs, and operations for the Fiscal Year 2017.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S House of Representatives voted to pass S.1555, the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act. The bill will recognize Filipino veterans who fought for the United States during World War II with a Congressional Gold Medal, our nation’s highest civilian honor. The Senate passed this bill unanimously over the summer, and it will now be sent to the President to be signed into law.
